RMIT Delegation Visits SDUW

On November 6th, Prof. Adrian Mouritz, Dean of School of Engineering of Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), visited Shandong University, Weihai (SDUW). Prof. Chen Guanjun, Vice President of SDUW, met with the guests. Relevant staff from Office of Teaching Affairs, International Office and School of Mechanical, Electrical and Information Engineering attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Prof. Chen reviewed the development of the MoE program in Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation. He was glad that its first cohort of graduates enjoys a high employment rate and many students choose to pursue their study by attending a master’s program. He also pointed out that SDUW would encourage more outstanding students to study at RMIT, based on which the cooperation could be conducted in a broader manner by means of academic exchange of teaching staff and research collaboration.Prof. Mouritz said that the MoE program serves as a good start for the cooperation between SDUW and RMIT. He spoke highly of teaching quality of SDUW, and expressed his wish that the two universities could deepen their cooperation in Engineering through exchange of outstanding faculties.

After the meeting, the Fourth Session of the SDUW-RMIT Management Committee of MoE program in Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation was held at SDUW, during which the attendees exchanged opinions regarding admission, management and introduction of courses as well as course articulation.

During the stay, the delegation also met with students enrolled in the MoE program, during which an information session was held to introduce the program and to answer questions of the students.
